Ardbeg was part of a small get-together. The idea of dry, tidy finish was there, but the oak came across too dry. The balance felt off from start to finish.

I paid more attention to the finish on this whisky. I liked the nutty edge. The only drawback was that it stayed sharp even after resting. I'd order it again in the right mood.

Ardbeg made more sense after letting it sit for a few minutes. I liked the rounded mouthfeel; the vanilla note made it feel complete rather than heavy. This one earned a place on my repeat list.
