Mai Tai is the best tiki cocktail. What is the Worst Equal Parts drink?

As the recipe is written - Blood and Sand.
Agreed. This one is an actual cocktail. It's also really bad.
Yeah we have a winner
Fair choice. I think a blood and sand can be excellent, especially if you use good scotch and good vermouth, and even tweak the ratio a bit. I like that it is truly a unique cocktail with its own personality. But the standard equal parts ratio can be cloyingly sweet or just plain unlikable to some people.
This is blasphemous for me. It is one of my favourite cocktails. It just sounds like you've used the wrong ingredients.
The only acceptable blood and sand is made with fresh squeezed OJ.
What's wrong with it as written?
1000% this
If we're talking classics, this is the one. Abhorrent. Cement Mixer at the top is understandable but I'd argue gross-out shots don't really count
Arguably also the worst classic cocktail.
But blood and sands are great! The cement mixer answer up above tho…… would’ve been perfectly fine without knowing that existed. Edit: two words
I like this because it’s an actual cocktail and not a gag.
This is probably the correct answer
Cement mixer
I've never really considered that a cocktail. It's something we used to order for someone on their 21st birthday as a gag.
What an odd mix.
I knew this would be the top answer before I even opened this post.
If it’s fresh squeeze lime juice, it isn’t the worst thing imaginable. If it’s sweet and sour mix, it breaks the Geneva conventions.
That’s a stunt drink though. Ain’t nobody doing that voluntarily because they like it!
What’s a cement mixer? Sounds like a “dirty diaper” where you just empty out the bar mat into a rocks glass.
Do people actually drink it seriously? It’s always been sort of a ”gag drink” in my circle, especially when we were students it was something you’d buy someone who’d never tried one (and not forewarn them how it will react), or as a joke.
AKA Trauma in a glass
I’ve never had this & just looked it up… and without ever drinking it, I have to say I agree.
came here to say this
I feel like shots could've been it's own category on this chart. M&M easy best, boilermakers for overrated. Probably has more diversity than bitter but maybe I'm crazy
Just went ahead and gagged as soon as I saw this answer.
This is the one
Absolutely, an experience that might have you spitting it out before you even get it down
the savoy version of the aviation where it’s equal parts, eeeyuuuuuuuck
I was going to suggest a michelada that’s equal parts clam juice, light beer, and V8, but if this is a real thing it’s way worse than anything I could even imagine
Right up there with the 50/50 Martini
What the fuck? They took a cocktail that's on the razors edge of balanced and decided to say "fuck it" like that?
Not sure if this is considered a cocktail but the four horseman. Equal parts beam, jack, Jameson and Johnnie Walker. Basically just combine all the most mid whiskies and call it a drink
Afaik that's supposed to be done as four shots back to back. Mixing them together is just adding insult to self injury.
Eeuuughhh
The Three horseman is a recognized cocktail by the Las Vegas bartender union... so I guess there is some legitimacy.
I have a local distillery that specializes in Amaro and their version of 4 horsemen is awesome. EDIT: got it slightly wrong It’s their bitter (not the Nocino), 2 amaros, and a fernet. The Black Walnut Nocino is amazing tho, and I have subbed the Oscura for it before. Served chilled, it’s AWESOME. EDIT: The recipe: Whether you have access to the specific ones yourself or not, this might be a helpful guide: Eda Rhyne products 4 Horsemen - Equal parts Amaro Flora (lighter flowery amaro) Appalachian Fernet (fernet with local WNC ingredients) Amaro Oscura (made from smoked Rhubarb root) Bitter Tooth (red bitter) If it’s off at all for you play with the Oscura or Bitter Tooth amounts over the fernet or Flora.
This is the cocktails sub! We can’t just fall back on college-bar drinks.
Back during the college days in Wisconsin, we had the Three wisemen. Equal parts Jim (Beam), Jack (Daniel’s), and Joe (Jose Cuervo). I shudder thinking about it
That's not a drink, that's a dare.
