Had Clase Azul with grilled food. It opened with dry finish and stayed pleasant, but pepper dominated the finish. A solid four rather than a five.

This tequila worked best in a simple tequila highball. The start was better than the finish: fresh herbal note first, then the agave character was faint. Some good points, though the balance didn't fully work for me.

I tried Clase Azul Mezcal in a margarita. The citrus edge came through clearly, and cooked-agave character kept the sip interesting. I'd happily choose it again.
