El Ron had a few things going for it. From the first sip, the finish turned rough; the finish was no better because the flavour fell apart with ice. One star from me.

Served this rum in a simple rum cocktail and let it settle for a minute. It opened with rounded sweetness and stayed pleasant, but the finish turned rough. A solid four rather than a five.

Served this rum with ginger ale and let it settle for a minute. It had a decent molasses note; after that, the flavour fell apart with ice. Some good points, though the balance didn't fully work for me.

caramel - fruity
