Opened this whisky for a casual tasting. Even with a splash of soda, it felt thinner than I expected. Then the finish disappeared quickly. I left most of the pour unfinished.

The bottle was better when sipped slowly. The aroma hinted at dry, tidy finish; in the glass, the oak came across too dry. Maybe better in a stronger mix, though I wouldn't buy it for sipping.

Served this whisky with a splash of soda and let it settle for a minute. The start was better than the finish: gentle spice first, then the finish disappeared quickly. I wouldn't refuse it, but I have other favourites.

smooth - fruity
