I let this whisky sit for a moment before tasting it. It opened with light smoke and stayed pleasant, but the smoke covered everything else. A solid four rather than a five.

Had the bottle with barbecue. Apple character showed up early, while rounded mouthfeel carried through the finish.

This one was better when sipped slowly. I noticed some apple character, but mostly the finish turned bitter. Maybe better in a stronger mix, though I wouldn't buy it for sipping.

apple - hot - malty
