Bowmore worked best over one large cube. It opened with vanilla note and stayed pleasant, but the smoke covered everything else.

I paired Bowmore Islay Single Malt 15 Yrs with grilled kebabs, which helped show its character. I could appreciate the light smoke, though the finish turned bitter. Perfectly drinkable, just not something I'd seek out.

The bottle had a few things going for it. Mellow sweetness showed up early, while malted sweetness carried through the finish. It was gone faster than I expected, which says enough.
